Gracillariidae
A family that flies mostly nocturnally. In Portugal, 90 species are known out of the 275 present in Europe. Difficult to identify in the adult stage. In the larval stage, it presents specific characteristics with "mining" behaviors - living in tunnels created inside the leaves with specific shapes that help to identify some of the species. For the genus Phylloronycter, the "mines" usually make a fold in the leaf.
